London Docklands Singers are inviting interested singers to try out the choir at an open rehearsal on Monday 19th January 2026.
If you have been looking for a choir to join, then please do come along!
We will be rehearsing repertoire for our upcoming 'In Paradisum' concert in March. Scores will be available to borrow on the day.
We are a friendly choir, based in the community, and perform three concerts a year, alongside many fundraising Christmas events. We have spaces available in all voice parts (Soprano,Alto, Tenor and Bass). Don't worry if you're not sure which voice part you are - come along and we can discuss further at the rehearsal. There is no audition necessary to attend, (and we won't ask you to solo in front of anyone), just come along and join in and see how you go. We advise that a basic ability to read music is necessary.

Monday Evening Rehearsals
If you are unable to attend the Open Rehearsal, you are welcome to join us at any of our regular Monday evening rehearsals which run from 7:45pm to 9:30pm at Christ Church, Isle of Dogs, Manchester Road, E14 3BN. (nearest station is Island Gardens, on the DLR).

If you can read music, that would be helpful, but not entirely essential. You will learn to read music as you become more familiar with music scores during our rehearsals.
Joining procedure
We do not hold an audition to join the choir. You need to attend 4 to 6 rehearsals as a probation period. You may have a possible audition if thought necessary by the Musical Director before accepting an offer to join the choir.
Subscriptions
The annual subscription, payable at the beginning of each year (September) is £150 (£75 for concessions)
Concerts
There are 3 to 4 concerts per year and other smaller events.
Choir Days - Saturdays
These are all day rehearsals, with breaks, running from 11am – 5pm, scheduled on a Saturday spent preparing for one of LDS’s main performances, usually 3 weeks before a concert. Attendance on a Choir Day will be essential.
